Set physical size deliberately
Choose the finished height in Photo2STL and confirm all three dimensions after importing the STL into your slicer. Very small scaling can erase thin features even when they exist in the mesh.
Inspect depth and the underside
Rotate the model to find steep overhangs, unsupported islands, thin walls, holes, and unexpected back geometry. Repair or trim the mesh before slicing when needed.
Choose orientation before supports
Place the strongest or flattest surface against the build plate when practical. Orientation changes support demand, surface quality, layer lines, and the strength of narrow features.
Let the slicer own manufacturing settings
Layer height, walls, infill, temperatures, speed, adhesion, and supports depend on the printer, nozzle, material, and model. Preview every layer and use settings validated for your machine.
