What the service does
Photo2STL accepts one front image and, for Pixal3D, one optional matching back view. The generation service estimates a three-dimensional surface and makes the original geometry available as STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB, and PLY. The browser preview lets you rotate and inspect the result before downloading it.
Two generators serve different jobs
SPAR3D produces a faster lower-poly result suited to drafts and simple forms. Pixal3D spends more computation on detailed geometry. The converter shows the access terms that apply before submission. When rewarded access is enabled, one voluntary ad unlocks one Pixal3D result and two new-seed retries tied to the same source image. Every completed result in that set remains downloadable during the 45-minute session.
The retry rule is intentionally narrow. It gives a visitor three interpretations of one source without turning one ad view into unrelated jobs. Changing the source image, its optional back view, or their order begins a new generation set.
What image generation cannot know
A photograph does not contain exact hidden surfaces, measurements, material properties, or manufacturing tolerances. The model estimates those missing details. Generated geometry can contain holes, disconnected regions, incorrect depth, or distorted features, so it must be inspected before printing, manufacturing, or further use.
Temporary processing by design
Photo2STL does not provide accounts, a public gallery, or a permanent model library. Uploads and results are held long enough to run the job and make downloads available, then expire. Opaque browser identifiers support rate limits and short-lived result recovery. The Privacy page explains the exact browser storage and third-party services.
This design keeps the product centered on a private conversion rather than publishing user submissions. Images are not used as guide content, advertising creative, or a showcase unless the rights holder separately supplies and authorizes them for that purpose.
Models and software
The service uses open and community-licensed model and mesh-processing components. Their licenses and source obligations are described on the Copyright and attribution page. Photo2STL does not claim that an output is free of third-party rights; users must have permission for their inputs and intended uses.
How quality is evaluated
Generation is checked for a readable output artifact and basic mesh information, then presented for human inspection. A front-facing preview alone is insufficient. The practical quality test includes the silhouette, hidden surfaces, openings, disconnected pieces, and whether the original download opens in independent 3D software.
Operator and contact
Photo2STL is operated by Melvin Global LLC. Use the contact path on that site for service, privacy, or copyright questions. Include “Photo2STL” and enough non-sensitive detail to identify the issue. Do not send private source images unless requested through an appropriate support channel.
